WHY BUY A BIKE FROM BIKES & BEANS?

If you purchased a new bike from Bikes & Beans you get a 10% discount on most cycling and triathlon accessories in the shop , as long as you own the bike. This includes tools, shoes, clothing, etc. As you can see this can add up to quite significant savings. The discount, however, is NOT applicable on sale or marked down items, Yakima items and other bikes.

During busy repair seasons our own bikes are given priority in the repair line-up.

Our customers have access to not only what we believe are the best bikes on the market, but also to the best bicycle fitting available in the province. We are the only shop with a sizing cycle, and we go to great lengths to fit the appropriate length stem (see the STEM PROGRAM below) and width of handlebar to your bike. We also have a SEAT EXCHANGE PROGRAM (details below).

Steve Morris is one of the top cyclists in New Brunswick, and has quite a knowledge in bike fit for road and triathlon. This knowledge has been known to dramatically improve the bike splits of those who have undergone it.

One customer was shown to demonstrate an increase of 30 watts at the same heart rate after a fitting. Another customer improved his half-ironman bike split by 18 minutes, on the way to a personal best for the event - his training partner elected to purchase elsewhere and while his bike split was 2 minutes faster, his overall time was over an hour slower than his personal best. The fact that this individual used an entry level road bike the first time he did this particular event and invested over $3000 for a carbon tri-bike for his second try (tri) demonstrates he was not fitted properly, the fact that the new bike was more aero should have saved him 5 to 7 minutes over his old bike. His new bike being carbon should have resulted in a faster time as well as his bike frame absorbed more road vibration from the road, good for another 2-3 minutes. Our bicycle fit is just one of the reasons why Bikes & Beans has dominated the provincial triathlon scene.

Steve offers customers that purchase a carbon-framed bicyle an opportunity to undergo the Functional Threshold Power Test (no charge). Customers may even elect to undergo this test first with their old position and then again with their adjusted position.

We offer FREE SWIM CLINICS to those who have purchased bikes from us. These take place in the winter and utilize equipment that even the swim team does not have available (they borrow our equipment on occasion). The instructor is shop owner Steve Morris. Steve is known as one of the top swimmers in the Atlantic region, usually coming out of the water first in most triathlons. He is a former nationally ranked swimmer and has almost 15 years experience coaching swim teams, instructing lifeguards, and was the only swimming instructor in Canada certified as an instructor trainer for the Red Cross, YMCA, and Olympic Way swimming programs. Case in point, the individual above that did a pb in the half-ironman also swam 4 minutes faster than the last time he did the same event, while his training partner had no swim improvement. Another reason for our domination of the provincial triathlon scene.

STEM PROGRAM
Here at B&B we recognise that sometimes the stem may need to be exchanged after one rides the bike and begins to dial in their fit. We offer a FREE exchange - anytime, as many as needed - of stems (stock or equivalent to stock)on new bikes we sell. Sometimes when aerobars are mounted to a road bike the stem needs to be shortened for positioning, this is also covered in the exchange if you have a B&B bike, we will also re-evaluate the customer's position to ensure that they remain within the optimum knee, hip and shoulder angles.

SADDLE (SEAT) PROGRAM
We offer exchange of saddles to further help in dialing in your comfort and position. The exchange is free and the only time there is an upcharge is if the saddle is an upgrade (ie more expensive than stock due to materials like titanium or carbon), in the case of an upgrade you only pay the differenec in price between your saddle and the upgraded one. The only thing we ask is that the saddle brought in for exchange is not damaged or torn. Of course this is only available to bikes purchased from Bikes & Beans.
